Cedar Knolls Scout Shop  (website)

You can also order everything you need from the BSA online store.

Also, a Scout Pro Tip: since we're trying to teach our Scouts to be "thrifty", consider passing up or passing down appropriate items (caps, bandanas, etc.) to those who might need a hand.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT TO BUY FOR THE UNIFORM?

At the very minimum, you will need the following:

  • Kindergarten - blue Lion t-shirt

  • 1st - 3rd grade - blue uniform dress shirt: short or long sleeve.

  • 4th - 5th grade - blue or tan uniform dress shirt: short or long sleeve.

  • Council patch that says "Northern New Jersey Council"

  • Patches of numbers 2 and 0

  • Purple Fleur-de-lis patch (World Crest Patch)

  • Hat that corresponds to your scout's den level

  • Neckerchief that corresponds to your scout's den level

DO I HAVE TO SEW THE PATCHES ON THE UNIFORM?

You don't have to sew them on, as they can adhered using a product called “badge magic”.  However, adhered patches will eventually start coming off.  If you want to have them sewn-on but you don't know how to, you can take them to a local dry cleaners.  Some will sew them on for $1.00 per patch.  To be sure, ask them first, though.
